Living a happy life with a glass of wine in hand

Kir Royale

The simplest, fancy drink you’ve never heard of – the Kir Royale.

Everyone needs a go-to bar order. Something that isn’t a glass of wine or a beer that sounds slightly sophisticated. Mine is a Kir Royale. A Kir Royale is a good one because it’s very likely that a bar will have the ingredients on hand. I mean, it’s only two ingredients, you can’t go wrong. Champagne and Creme de Cassis – it’s that simple.

Kir Royale is a French apéritif, meaning it is typically enjoyed before a meal to help build an appetite (similar to the Negroni of Italy). There are several variations on this cocktail, however, the Kir Royale is arguably the most popular). Some notable variations are the Kir (creme de cassis and white wine) and the Kir Impérial (made with a raspberry liqueur like Chambord instead of creme de cassis).

As you’ll see from the picture, my ‘twist of lemon’ could use a little work. I’ve been eyeing this citrus channel knife.

Sleep, Sleep, Beautiful Sleep

On Episode 7 of the Crunchy Cocktail Hour, we are talking all things sleep! Sleep is absolutely vital to your overall health, but most of us aren’t getting nearly enough. On this episode, we discuss why sleep is important and how to get more of it. As you will hear, I am a HUGE fan of sleep. Without my full 8 hours, I am a mess (so I must have been REALLY fun to be around with a newborn – yikes).

Cheers!
